Jesse Chisholm our neighbor?

Council Grove which is historically 3 square miles within the WesTen District has many stories and one of them involves Jesse Chisholm.  Yes, the Chisholm who the Chisholm Trail is named after.  Chisholm’s trading post was in the general area of the northwest corner of Overholser Drive and Northwest 10th (right by the light).  A few years ago the Oklahoma City Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) erected a historical marker to commemorate the spot.

Recently DAR planted a lovely garden of 120 daffodils (donated by #RebloomOklahoma) , maidenhair grass, switch grass irises and hyacinth. They will also be adding a few steppingstones and a white picket border in spring.   A nice beautification touch for the WesTen District.
